goulash(I'm probably spelling it wrong) or I think thats what my mom called it. I think its literally cook some hamburger, add canned diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, and cooked macaroni. Bake until everything is hot and cheese is melted/slightly browned. maybe whatever seasonings you'd like to add.
it was never one of my favorite meals while living at home(probably why i was the evil daughter that would buy my mother a crockpot and cookbooks for christmas presents all the time)...

My mom did something with macaroni, burger and tomatoes that she'd canned. It was called Mama's Mess in our house. Yet I crave it quite often. She used just the 3 ingredients and salt and pepper. Bob is going out of town next week, I might have to make it. For some reason he does not crave this dish. Smile

Someone at work used to make it for the guys. I always kind of liked it, but was always busy with something else while she was cooking it. I'll ask her if I run into her (still off work for busted ankle).

We Greeks make something similar but it's not a casserole dish,it's delicious. We caramelize chopped onion in olive oil, then we add the ground beef stirring until it's almost cooked, add salt and black pepper. Then we add one small can of tomato sauce.I sometimes add a little ketchup too fot the flavor but it's optional. We cook the spaghetti seperately and voile',you serve the spaghetti on the bottom and the meat on the top.You then have MAKARONIA ME KIMA' Razz
