have you ever looked in your parents refigerator?

Post by bizzeedee on Thu Nov 18, 2010 7:53 pm

Well that would be what I see every time I open my own.... my gosh, we have become our parents... containers of leftovers which we have no idea what they are, a tub of lunch meat, an unopened package of lunchmeat, a plastic container of chopped up cantelope, a dab of cottage cheese, cheese spread, tub of Kalmatra olives, some goat cheese, lots of sliced cheese, partial bread loaves of various kinds, leftover restaurant food... list goes on and on. Geesh, it's like looking into my mother's refridgerator Laughing This is what you youngins have to look forward to!

lol that reminds me...when Wynonna was in the hospital in Portland, they made us switch rooms 6 times during the month or so we were there. Twice they moved us right out of the Barbara Bush Childrens Wing, only to move us back. One of those two times I had no idea where we were in the hospital, until I went to one of the little kitchens to get Wynonna a ginger ale. I opened the fridge door and it was full of custard cups and little bottles of prune juice..I knew right away we were on Geriatrics.... Smile

I totally avoid visiting my Dad, so no...not lately. I did look in ine earlier, and apparently I need to go make groceries. I have celery, lettuce, and milk, a giant potof Sauce Piqut, will probably go in the freezer tonite though...and 4 gallons of iced tea.....no wonder the kids were complaining of hunger earlier...

I check my dad's regularly. Not as scary as it could be. He's diabetic and forgets to eat sometimes, but I'm usually pretty happy at what I see in there. My own is pretty well stocked right now. I do want to borrow your goat cheese and cantaloupe, Dee.

I used to check the Grandparents fridges, Dh's grands, and both my Grandmothers. One grandmother diabetic, the other Hypoglycemic, his had dementia and heart problems, so I always made sure they 1) had food, 2) had the right food 3) didn't have any expired stuff. Living thru the depression made them "savers", and that could be bad.
