Kids CAN learn!

Post by Connie on Wed Aug 25, 2010 11:16 pm

Last week I told miss Kirstin that if she couldn't get the grandbaby on a schedule and keep him there I wasn't going to babysit anymore... He is a kid who thrives on a schedule...

I could go into all the details but Im sure you all get the idea of what a baby with no schedule is like.

I told her we would be gone for 4 days and that was her time to get him situated. Had to laugh because this was a Wed and she said "so you want me to wake him up tomorrow at 6am?" Ummm NOOO I want you to wake him up at 6am on Fri when YOU are here to deal with his crabby butt!

So anyway we go away for the weekend and get back last night around 11pm.. she makes a big deal out of telling me he has stayed on a certain schedule all weekend... woohoo..

Today when she gets home she points out how HAPPY he has been since she has had him on this schedule... ROFLMAO

It took all I had to NOT say "told you so"... instead I just said "Isn't it nice?" lol..

Good for you, Connie! I was always awful at remembering to keep mine on a schedule. They do so much better, but I would slip up and lose track of time.

Great job at biting your tongue, Connie! LOL And great job for laying down the law, too. Now everyone is happy. Isn't it nice?

So far... how long will it last? She got up late this morning and took off about 7 leaving her 15 mins to get to school.. sooo baby didn't get woke up and didn't wake up until 8. She did keep him on schedule the rest of the day so can't complain too much.. We shall see..

I am all for schedules, and kept mine on one to the point of leaving family functions etc to get them home for nap time, bed time or dinnertime. DH's family got really ticked one time when I left on Christmas Day because Bayley had to be home in bed at a certain time.....but it worked for us.
Hope she sticks with it, he will be happier, and so will everyone else.

I have done and do the same Erin, the in-laws get irritated on holidays and such but I don't much care.
