I barely notice it anymore, or at least try not to, because it drives me nuts. I make typos because I am too lazy to proof read, and my grammar may not be perfect but I can spell very well.

I cant spell cat if you spot me the C and the T, but I DO attempt it, and yes, I make typos all the time, but the easy words like those- it drives me NUTS. and whn you drive someone nuts that KNOWS thy cant spell.. you are awful.

OH and my E doesnt work well. so I have to make sure it typed. sometimes it does sometimes it doesnt. but since my left arrow is missing, its a pITA to go backwards.

I blame it on texting. but that doesnt even really work.

whats sad is I have high schoolers on my FB and they are SOOOO awful.

and the teachers aint much better.... I have lots of both. its sooo embarresing. (see, I cant spell that)

its the simple words that they seem to have the most problems with. and I hate text speak. HATE it.

and ROFLMAO @connie. I agree. that was the first thing I thought! LOL

I get SO freaked out by spelling, my aunt is the worst, she doesn't know the difference between There, Their, and they're....freaky scary that there are SO many illiterate people out there...

I get annoyed by the people who put "sp?" after the misspelled word. It's okay on something handwritten, but I keep thinking that it's different on the computer. They know they just misspelled it (or at least think they did) and they're on the internet already. So why can't they just run a spell check or open another tab and run a search on the word? It takes all of 30 seconds and then they'll KNOW how to spell the word and maybe learn something new.

That being said my kids have the worst spelling. I cringe when I read their facebook updates. Embarassed

The ones that get me are the ones that are longer than the real word. I mean I do understand about twitter and texting, you need to keep the character count down. However, the ones that kill me are longer than the real word. What is up with putting meh, instead of me?

My 30 year old makes the same spelling errors, but at least she tries.
She is a college graduate and the mother of my precious granddaughter, a wife and holds down a full time job.
Oh, did I mention she is dyslexic?
I am so proud of her.

I agree! My husband is dyslexic and while he did go to college he had a hard time because reading and doing equations was so hard due to the dyslexia. He almost can't read at all when he's stressed out and the harder the classes, the more stress there is. Your daughter is definitely to be congratulated!

Honestly, because opening a new page on dial up takes me about 3-4 minutes, if not longer- LOL

and there are times I do- but then, if I really have the word all FUBAR NOTHING will find it... ROFLMAO!

I know my dial up is a shitty excuse I use all the time, but you really dont know just how slow it is.

That said, once I get my puter back that I blew up with the new air card, I will be able to open new pages all the time. right now I'm stuck on the old computer and IT takes minutes to open new pages. but the good news is, they refresh quickly... ;-)

Mispelling doesnt get me on larger words- its the then and thans, and such. Now sometimes I do write like I talk. But not all the time.

I will say 'I'm fixin to go" or lots of things that I dont put the G on, so I dont type it.

I actually have a mental block that keeps me from spelling correctly. I had to be tested for it 20 plus years ago when the taks test became a do or die thing. I cant multiply and I cant spell. Its a memory thing, my brain doesnt do. And it does affect my normal life, but not like dyslexia or anything like that- its more of a I act like my head is up my ass type thing- But I just dont remember things. And yes, I have tried all the memory games. I dont remember if any of them worked or not.
