fund raiser negatives

Post by bizzeedee on Sat Jun 26, 2010 11:58 pm

My back door neigbor, is a sports gal, and the vollyball team sold tickets to a pancake breakfast hosted by Applebee's this morning.

Of course we bought 2 tickets ($6 each) and went.

BUT, we went at 8;15 ( up at 7:30, way too early for me) and they had no hot tea, (not a coffee drinker but need my mornng tea) and within 10 minutes had our pancakes and sausage and OJ...

Stupidy, ate all but a couple of bites (I really don't care for pancakes and definitely don't like eating at 8:15 in the morning!) got that sugar high which soon left me feeling like crap for the rest of the day. Our gal (team player) had the never to ask if we wanted more Shocked

Never again. Next year, think we'll just donate to the team and not put ourselves thru having to eat stuff we just don't eat for breakfast, or about any other time.

Back fruit and cottage loaded with cracked black pepper (along with some whole wheat cackers and peanut butter) tomorrow ! Very Happy

I used to never be able to eat breakfast. I loved breakfast foods. But never before 10 or 11. If I ate anything earlier I felt queasy all day.

But for the past few months I've woken up hungry no matter how early I get up. I don't like it at all!

You could always buy the tickets and stay home, call it a donation. I do that all the time.

You're right Erin, and I'll do a variation on that next year. Tickets are sold ahead of time (no at the door) so that they have a count of people attending... I will 'donate' and not take the tickets, therefore, they wouldn't have 2 no shows, but would still get the money.
