toiled hard for two days

Post by bizzeedee on Fri May 07, 2010 7:31 pm

and I think I need tomorrow off LOL.... yesterday was mowing and partial edging (particial because my battery sometimes only lasts for the front yard and not enough for back yard) and it was hot, hot.

Today, after yoga, came home and finished the back yard edging (I charged the wacker). While by my back garden, I thought to myself, "hmmm wonder if those wild onions will pull out like they did last year.... heavy rain, few days of dry...) and they did. So spent the afternoon in the back garden (which is way too big) and pulled 1-1/2 20 gallon trash bags of wild onions, bulb intack, and another slew of weeds.

But with stretches in yoga this morning and the tedious task of bending over (or even squatting to pull those onions) my back is killing me.

And that's why I think I deserve tomorrow off Smile

Besides, it's only going to be about 64 degrees... after 87 today, that sounds darn right cold !

Rain, rain, rain all day and in the 37-41 degree range. With overnight temps getting even colder, we're supposed to get a bunch of snow tomorrow.

We picked DS up from college today. There wasn't any big hauling, just a 6 hour round-trip car drive to make things unbearable. We ate dinner in one of the cafeterias on campus. They have one of those big round grills like at Mongolian BBQ. A salad bar station. A deli station where you can make a sandwich. A grill where you can get a burger. We had to torment him with stories about what used to be served in the cafeteria- and if you didn't like it or couldn't hit the cafeteria during the set meal times, you just didn't eat. I didn't catch him rolling his eyes even once, though.

Where is he going to school? Sounds like a mighty nice "cafeteria"

and SNOW? oh goodness.... I did see on the weather sites this morning that there was snow in SD (or ND?) and though... OMG... but then realized it's early May, so guess that's the norm... been 10 years down south and I forget for many parts, it's still possible !

Ten and a half inches here last week. Thank goodness we live on a hill. But I feel for you Erin. Too bad you couldn't have some of my rain.
